Dr. Leah Mayo

Dr. Leah Mayo is the Parker Psychedelics Research Chair, Lead of Novel Therapeutics, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, and the Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research & Education. Together with Dr. Rita Henderson, she is a co-lead of the LIVE-PATH Network

Dr. Mayo’s team - the Psychedelic and Cannabinoid Therapeutics (PaCT ) Lab - focuses on developing novel pharmacotherapeutic interventions for stress-related mental health disorders, such as substance use disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Leah was born and raised on the L’Anse reservation of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community (Lake Superior Band of Ojibway) and has a vested interest in co-developing therapeutic opportunities that are accessible and culturally aligned.
